We are seeking a hands-on designer and creative lead who can take ownership of seasonal product development and the visual materials that bring our collections to market. This position combines design, commercial merchandising, product development, photoshoot coordination, and digital imagery. You will work directly with company leadership and collaborate with technical design, production, sales, and manufacturing partners. The right person brings a strong eye for product, understands what makes a garment commercially successful, and follows through on the details required to deliver it. You should enjoy both developing new ideas and completing the practical work that keeps a fashion business moving. Key Responsibilities SEASONAL DESIGN AND COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT Develop dresses and sportswear from initial research and concepts through sketches, CADs, sample development, and production handoff. Build seasonal concepts, color palettes, fabric stories, print directions, and coordinated assortments. Design for our customer, retailer requirements, target costs, and delivery calendars. Translate trends into wearable, commercially relevant products that reflect the brand. Develop new silhouettes and update proven styles through fabric, color, print, and construction variations. Prepare clear technical flats, design specifications, and development materials in coordination with technical design. Review samples and resolve design issues throughout development. COMMERCIAL MERCHANDISING AND RETAILER PRESENTATIONS Partner with leadership and sales to translate buyer feedback, sales results, and assortment needs into product decisions. Build focused capsules for individual retailers, selling periods, and customer needs. Identify opportunities within existing inventory and merchandise available styles into compelling, coordinated presentations. Create retailer-ready CAD assortments, presentation decks, line sheets, and collection boards. Prepare style and color variations accurately and respond efficiently to buyer revisions. Help maintain a balanced assortment across silhouettes, categories, price points, and delivery periods. FABRIC, PRINT, COLOR, AND FIT Research and select fabrics, trims, embellishments, and construction details appropriate to the design and target cost. Review fabric submissions, lab dips, print strike-offs, artwork placement, and color combinations. Communicate clear approvals and revisions to manufacturing and development partners. Participate in fittings with technical design, evaluating silhouette, proportion, construction, and design intent. Help resolve issues while balancing appearance, fit, quality, cost, and production feasibility. PHOTOSHOOT PLANNING AND EXECUTION Coordinate the creative and product preparation required for collection and e-commerce photoshoots. Organize samples, looks, accessories, shot lists, and priorities before each shoot. Collaborate with photographers, models, stylists, and internal team members. Attend shoots and provide hands-on styling and garment adjustments. Ensure imagery captures accurate fit, color, construction, and important garment details. Track required shots and identify missing images or reshoots. PRODUCT IMAGERY AND CREATIVE ASSET MANAGEMENT Select, retouch, crop, resize, and prepare product images for wholesale partners and e-commerce channels. Follow retailer-specific requirements for backgrounds, image dimensions, aspect ratios, and crops. Maintain consistent file naming by style, color, and image sequence. Organize original photography, edited images, CADs, artwork, and final deliverables so teams can locate and use them easily. Check image quality, garment accuracy, and consistency before delivery. Coordinate with sales, operations, and e-commerce colleagues to meet asset deadlines. Create supporting visual materials for presentations, website needs, and other brand initiatives. AI AND DIGITAL WORKFLOWS Use AI tools where they improve concept exploration, design visualization, color and print variations, presentations, or product imagery. Explore practical applications of platforms such as Botika and other fashion design and image tools. Check generated assets carefully for accurate prints, proportions, trims, construction, and garment details. Combine AI capabilities with strong design judgment and Adobe skills. Improve repetitive workflows and maintain clear, organized processes. PROJECT OWNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION Manage multiple seasonal, retailer, and creative deadlines with limited supervision. Maintain clear records of design decisions, sample status, revisions, approvals, and outstanding tasks. Communicate proactively with leadership, sales, technical design, production, and external partners. Flag problems early and propose practical solutions. Take responsibility for projects through completion, including detailed execution and final quality checks. Qualifications Professional experience developing commercial womenswear, with relevant experience in dresses, sportswear, or both. A portfolio showing strong design judgment, technical execution, and commercially produced work. Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills. Ability to create accurate CADs, technical flats, and polished retailer presentations. Working knowledge of fabrics, prints, garment construction, fit, and production processes. Experience collaborating with factories, vendors, technical designers, and production teams. Commercial awareness and an ability to design within target costs. Experience supporting photoshoots and preparing product imagery. Clear communication, strong organization, and consistent follow-through. Comfort working independently within a small team. Practical experience with AI tools or a demonstrated willingness and ability to learn them. Availability to work in our New York office and attend photoshoots. Additional Experience We Value Department store, off-price, wholesale, or private-label development. Retailer-specific assortments and buyer presentation materials. Product retouching and retailer image standards. Print development, repeat patterns, and artwork placement. Fashion AI platforms, digital visualization, or workflow improvements. Who Will Succeed Here You have creative ideas and can turn them into clear, executable work. You understand how product, pricing, customer needs, and presentation connect. You can explain your decisions, respond constructively to feedback, and keep projects moving without constant direction. We welcome experienced designers and exceptional associate designers who can demonstrate readiness for broader ownership. Title and compensation will reflect demonstrated capabilities and the scope you can independently manage. How To Apply Please submit: Your resume and portfolio. Two or three examples of commercially produced styles, explaining your personal contribution. Examples of CADs, retailer presentations, or assortment development. Any relevant product retouching, photoshoot, or AI-assisted work. Your target annual salary and earliest available start date. Please distinguish work you personally originated and executed from projects completed as part of a larger team. We are reviewing applications promptly and scheduling interviews on a rolling basis.
