About the role

The Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar Position is a Physician Scientist Scholar position within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Formulate and conduct research studies focused on women’s reproductive health.
  • Publish manuscripts related to their research.
  • Apply for independent funding focused on women’s reproductive health.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Planning an academic career as a physician holding a M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Completed or final year of postgraduate residency training in obstetrics-gynecology.
  • Completed or final year of postdoctoral fellowship training in obstetrics and gynecology, or advanced training in clinical research.
  • Identify mentors with extensive research experience.
  • Able to devote at least 75% effort to conducting research and research career development.
  • Not be or have been a PD/PI on certain types of grants.

Qualifications

Appointed WRHR Scholars will have:

  • Experience formulating and conducting research studies.
  • Publishing manuscripts.
  • Applying for funding focused on women’s reproductive health.

Benefits

The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Pay

The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200-$204,100. Salary is determined by rank and step according to the UC salary scales.

Schedule

The position includes 2- to 5-years of intensive mentored research combined with patient care.
