Women's Health Sonographer

About the role

Tampa Family Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate, and accessible healthcare to culturally diverse communities across Hillsborough County. The Women’s Health Sonographer position supports this mission by performing basic ultrasound services for obstetric and gynecological patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with accepted protocols and provider direction
• Prepare and instruct patients to support cooperation and quality test results
• Maintain ultrasound rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Follow safety, infection control, and OSHA protocols
• Record patient information accurately, clearly, and completely
• Obtain preliminary patient data before referrals or provider review
• Support referral processing and follow-up according to facility protocol
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff
• Assist with orientation of new personnel or students when needed
• Support continued learning, teamwork, and patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited institution
• ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or AB required
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical practice in an OB/GYN specialty required
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with patients and team members
