About the role

The Assistant Coach oversees specific aspects of the Women's Golf program, including skill-work, practice and game planning, opponent scouting, recruiting, in-season conditioning, fundraising, and administrative duties. The position requires attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to work with a diverse constituency.

Responsibilities

  • Develops technical aspects of player coaching and analyzes performance.
  • Instructs participants in program strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition.
  • Observes players and determines the need for individual or team improvement.
  • Ensures adherence to all governing rules, university, department, conference, NCAA policies and procedures, and NCAA compliance.
  • Represents and promotes professional conduct, university good will, and high standards at all events and matches.
  • Affords assistance in coaching at competitive events.
  • Assists with and leads practice and conditioning sessions.
  • Travels to contests by driving University, rental, and/or personal vehicle.
  • Assists in the recruitment of prospective athletes within the framework of the university, department, conference, and current D3 bylaws and manual.
  • Participates in on and off campus recruiting and manages recruit documentation.
  • Attends department wide meetings, committees, and events.
  • Participates in fundraising activities for the program and department including camps and clinics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with athletic participants, staff, and parents of student athletes.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills required in order to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong social media and online communication skills to represent the University and athletics department programs.
  • Applied knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications
