WOC-ORD-Research Biological Science Laboratory Technician (Animal)

Qualifications

To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement - 08/06/2026.

Duties

• Aid with laboratory studies and data analysis
• Perform and assist with laboratory experiments including cell culture and staining of tissue sections
• Perform: perfusion fixation of rodents and processing brains for histological examination
• Genotype animals - assist with animal experiments - run DNA gels and western blots
• This includes gene delivery experiments - and genotyping of transgenic animals
• In concert with the staff of the Animal Facility and the Principle Investigator - help evaluate the health - well-being - and behavior of the animals before - during and after research experiments
• Using standard methods to obtain - process - and examine laboratory animals
• Measure - harvest tissue specimens and physiologic fluids
• Utilize standard methods and procedures to obtain - process - and examine laboratory animal behavior while ensuring safe and humane processes are used with critical concern for the welfare of the animals
