Wiring Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install and connect wiring for electrical switchgear components based on detailed schematics, diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Mount relays, circuit breakers, switches, busbars, and other electrical hardware into enclosures using hand and power tools.
• Rout, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables accurately and efficiently using proper techniques and tools.
• Conduct self-inspections of wiring to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and code standards.
• Assist in functional testing of wiring systems and troubleshoot issues such as miswires or component malfunctions.
• Document completed wiring tasks according to production requirements.
• Work safely around electrical components and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical wiring, panel building, or switchgear assembly is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in using wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, hand tools, and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety standards (OSHA, NEC).
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.

What You Bring

Previous experience in electrical wiring, panel building, or switchgear assembly preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Proficient in using wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, hand tools, and power tools.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety standards (OSHA, NEC).

Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions

• This position may require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around energized components with appropriate PPE.
• May involve repetitive motion, bending, and use of fine motor skills for wire routing and terminations.
• Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as needed.
