This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. HII works within our nation’s intelligence and cyber operations communities to defend our interests in cyberspace and anticipate emerging threats. Responsibilities
- Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects, or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed.
- Perform recurring work independently.
- Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
- Apply technical knowledge to perform repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of electrical wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts.
- Perform soldering and knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform required functions.
- Communicate with the project engineer/designer on any issues pertaining to the task.
- Receive technical guidance, as required from a supervisor or engineer.
- Participate in planning for manufacturing, kitting, or repair items by determining facilities, equipment, material and number and type of personnel required.
Requirements
- Level 1 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 0 years experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience.
- Level 2 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
- Level 3 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
- Level 4 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
- Technical knowledge to demonstrate a practical application of aircraft wiring procedures.
- Must obtain (and subsequently maintain) IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification within first of year of employment.
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance.
Qualifications
May require working in an industrial environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
Skills
- Experience with aircraft modification projects.
- Experienced with AS9100 Quality management policies and procedures.
- Understanding and application of electrical assembly, installation, and repair practices governed by SAE-AS50881, OPNAVINST 4790, and NAVAIR 505.
- Eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI.

Pay
Anticipated Salary Range: $54,502.00 - $80,000.00
