Position Overview
Join Siemens Rail Infrastructure as an Assembly Technician and help build the critical signaling and infrastructure solutions that keep rail networks operating safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble, wire, and test rail technology components while working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
What your day may look like
- Assemble and install electrical and mechanical components by interpreting blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions to ensure high-quality production.
- Perform wiring tasks including wire termination, crimping, stripping, soldering, and hardware installation while meeting quality and performance standards.
- Identify and resolve issues related to Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly prints, and production processes, working collaboratively to drive solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in team discussions, identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity, and helping eliminate waste.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment by following 5S standards, adhering to safety procedures, and demonstrating strong attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and perform multiple operational processes, with the capability to train and mentor team members across various production areas.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, wiring schematics, assembly drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
- Prior experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly is preferred.
- Previous soldering experience is a plus; training and certification testing will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, safety, and workmanship in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production setting.
Physical Demands
- Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, machinery, and equipment required to perform job.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry minimal weights from 2 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally twist.
