About the role

As a Field Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, high quality wireline tractor and mechanical intervention services for Baker Hughes (Altus Legacy). Building on more than 30 years of industry excellence in wireline tractor operations and mechanical application services, this position ensures flawless execution, technical integrity, and optimal utilization of equipment and resources. You will serve as a technical leader in the field, support operational planning, and contribute to continuous improvement across all Baker Hughes (Altus) operations.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating advanced competency in electronics with the ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues on all Baker (Altus) tractor and mechanical tools.
  • Operating, maintaining, and optimizing rotation and mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe service delivery.
  • Executing all field operations in strict accordance with Baker Procedures, industry standards, and client expectations.
  • Preparing, verifying, and controlling all equipment required for tractor operations, ensuring readiness and compliance with operational checklists.
  • Leading the completion of the final Baker (Altus) job package/Job Planner, including reporting, documentation, and quality verification.
  • Coordinating Baker Hughes (Altus) activities at the district level in collaboration with the Operations and Sales team.
  • Collecting and validating all customer-provided information necessary for job preparation and execution.
  • Completing job documentation and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Providing mentorship, training, and hands-on guidance for developing other Field Specialists and junior personnel.
  • Offering recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding performance evaluations, hiring decisions, or promotions.
  • Participating in company-directed professional development, technical courses, and project work to advance both personal and improve organizational capability.
  • Upholding and demonstrating Baker Hughes' commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) excellence across all operations.
  • Maintaining strict compliance with all internal HSE standards, regulatory guidelines, and procedural requirements.
  • Immediately report all nonconformities, equipment issues, and undesired incidents to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensuring all tools, vehicles, and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and presented to professional standards.
  • Contributing to onshore activities including equipment upgrades, maintenance programs, and quality control initiatives.
  • Participating in technical/safety meetings, project reviews, and operational planning sessions to enhance service delivery and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree / Technical Diploma.
  • 3+ years of directly related wireline tractor and/or mechanical intervention experience (Preferable).
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Towing trailer experience highly preferred.
  • Flexible ability to travel and work in other districts across the U.S. when jobs dispatch when help is needed during your work hitch.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal reporting tools).
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high organizational standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation, and the ability to lead by example.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership of work quality, and commitment to operational excellence.

Schedule

  • 14 days on, 14 days off – 12 hours / day
