Wireline Field Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Wireline Field Engineer for our Cheyenne, WY location. This role is safety-sensitive, requiring strict compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy. The position involves planning, directing, supervising, and evaluating wireline service workflows for clients, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical support for all wireline operations at the wellsite, yard, or other work locations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality assurance.
• Communicate with customers, wellsite representatives, rig crews, and field support staff regarding job conditions and requirements.
• Oversee the preparation, drafting, and completion of logs per customer requirements while maintaining confidentiality.
• Plan and coordinate operations using technical expertise to determine equipment needs, techniques, and usage.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all onsite equipment, instructing personnel on safe operation.
• Promote and enforce the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and industry regulations.
• Perform shipping, loading, and unloading duties in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
• Drive company vehicles (weighing 10,001+ pounds), including wireline trucks, cranes, fleet trucks, and trailers.
• Conduct pre- and post-job safety meetings, inspections, and equipment testing.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive job documentation, such as field tickets, job detail reports, maintenance forms, safety meeting records, and JSAs.
• Train personnel on proper equipment operation and compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Review onsite personnel performance and provide management recommendations for hiring, discipline, compensation, promotions, scheduling, and time approval.
• Maintain FMSCA logging requirements as a CDL or non-CDL Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator when crossing state lines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Less than a high school education (or equivalent).
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Employee Possessor license issued by the ATF (Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms).
• Satisfactory driving record per company policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with hazardous material endorsement.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 applications.

Physical Requirements

• Constant precise hand/eye coordination.
• Frequent basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions.
• Frequent operation of heavy equipment or vehicles.
• Frequent lifting/pushing objects over 20 lbs.
• Frequent climbing and working in awkward or cramped positions.
• Frequent travel and exposure to inclement weather.
• Frequent walking and working on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Frequent handling of heavy loads, including lifting, carrying, turning, squatting, and moving.
• Frequent climbing up and down ladders and in/out of equipment.
• Working in confined spaces.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay

$75,000–$100,000 annually.
