About the Role

As a Field Engineer, you will coordinate manpower, manage on-site materials, logistics, tools, and rental equipment, and assist with field workers' certification management. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality assurance and quality control documentation, managing field training, and maintaining the most current project documents. You'll coordinate with subcontractors, assist with daily activities, and participate in project scheduling meetings. Additionally, you will handle safety documentation, material takeoffs, change management, and creating and managing production goals for field staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating manpower and performing on-boarding and off-loading of manpower on project sites
  • Assist with field workers certification management
  • Manage on-site material, logistics, tools, and rental equipment
  • Assist with QA/QC document management
  • Contact AHJ for installation inspections (as required by GC)
  • Assist with field-required commissioning meetings and documentation
  • Coordinate with subcontractor’s field personnel
  • Schedule and renew Underground Service Alert tickets and provide OSHA notifications as required
  • Coordinate material releases with Project Engineer
  • Complete required prefabrication documentation
  • Coordinate field training
  • Ensure most current project documents (drawings, submittals, RFIs, etc.) are available (uploaded to ACC Build)
  • Review and understand project-specific requirements
  • Assist foreman with daily activities and responsibilities
  • Assist with RFI creation and management
  • Complete daily reports with input from the project team as needed
  • Participate in all project scheduling meetings
  • Participate in the required 10-5-2-1 documentation and notification
  • Ensure all required safety documentation is completed
  • Enter time for field workers
  • Assist with the completion of project as-builts
  • Complete material takeoffs
  • Assist with change management
  • Create and manage production goals for field staff

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication and organization skills, the ability to be a team player, and detail-oriented (required)
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (required)
  • Experience in Construction Management or Field (preferred)
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and their components (preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications

  • Frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance
  • Frequently required to talk, express, or exchange detailed, important information by means of verbal communication
  • Constantly required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; ability to hear detailed information and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards
  • Required to have near and far-sighted visual acuity with or without correction; must be able to inspect small parts, operate tools, use measurement devices, and/or assemble or fabricate parts
  • Must be able to visually identify and read posted signs, instructions, and identify possible hazards
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to environmental conditions inside and outside, including inclement weather, cold, heat, and humidity
  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud
  • Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, machines, dust, and chemicals
  • May be required to function in crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and other areas of close proximity
  • Occasionally required to work on elevated surfaces including ladders and lifts
