About the role

IDS is seeking a Wireless Technician II to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless communications systems. The role involves working with a variety of radio technologies and communications equipment supporting mission and training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, and maintain radio equipment ranging from HF through EHF systems
  • Support wireless communications infrastructure and associated equipment
  • Conduct signal planning and RF analysis activities
  • Determine appropriate radio placement and transmission power requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues and performance problems
  • Maintain technical documentation and equipment records
  • Auxiliary duties may include coordinating with stakeholders to support communications requirements and mission objectives

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience installing, operating, and maintaining various radio equipment ranging from HF to EHF
  • Demonstrated experience with signal planning and RF analysis to determine proper location and radio transmission power requirements
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting RF issues

Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance required

Skills

  • Experience with radio frequency (RF) systems
  • Signal planning and RF analysis skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot communications issues
