About the role
IDS is seeking a Wireless Technician II to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless communications systems. The role involves working with a variety of radio technologies and communications equipment supporting mission and training requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, and maintain radio equipment ranging from HF through EHF systems
- Support wireless communications infrastructure and associated equipment
- Conduct signal planning and RF analysis activities
- Determine appropriate radio placement and transmission power requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues and performance problems
- Maintain technical documentation and equipment records
- Auxiliary duties may include coordinating with stakeholders to support communications requirements and mission objectives
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience installing, operating, and maintaining various radio equipment ranging from HF to EHF
- Demonstrated experience with signal planning and RF analysis to determine proper location and radio transmission power requirements
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting RF issues
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance required
