The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility supporting the safety, security, reliability, and effectiveness of our nation's nuclear deterrent. With nearly 7,000 employees, KCNSC produces trusted national security products and services for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration.

This position collaborates with senior network personnel to provide network infrastructure that is available, stable, and secure. Responsibilities include evaluation, design, selection, purchase, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, hardware, and software, as well as leading small projects for network design, development, integration, and enhancement.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and monitor daily network operations to maintain and increase wireless network effectiveness.
  • Participate in incident management, asset management, change management, and continuous improvement of network systems.
  • Work with cyber security to maintain and monitor system security measures, including assisting with computer security plans and documentation.
  • Maintain and operate complex firewall configurations and policies.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively before they become critical.
  • Stay aware of advances in networking technologies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Sr. Network Analyst to evaluate and recommend networking processes, tools, or software.
  • Lead the planning and execution of small infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with project delivery teams to ensure successful project completion.
  • Create and update wireless network systems and cable plant documentation per established processes and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer-related courses, or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Two or more years of networking administration experience.
  • Ability to travel as determined by business needs.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Skills

  • Demonstrated experience with network management, troubleshooting, and monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting to automate services and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Experience with wireless networks.
