Wire Shop Technician

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inspecting products for compliance with drawings
  • Operating a laser wire marking machine
  • Building complex wire harness assemblies and junction boxes
  • Building and testing coax assemblies
  • Installing electrical equipment and harness assemblies on aircraft and in facilities
  • Working with electrical engineering and mechanical engineering teams to review drawings and provide production feedback

Basic Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of electrical harness and junction box fabrication
  • Strong electrical system troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and apply wiring diagrams
  • Ability to read and apply mechanical assembly drawings
  • Experience with proper application of wiring related tooling including contact crimpers, wire strippers and wire processing machinery
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to use a computer to perform tasking, including timecards and work tracking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aircraft electrical systems training, military or civilian
  • 1 to 3 years of work in and around aircraft including facilities that have an active tool control and FOD control program
  • Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment including multimeters, milliohm meters, video cable test equipment and vector network analyzers
  • Experience operating laser wire marking equipment
  • Experience with quality control program implementation
  • AMSOPP1

The Bridgewater Virginia electrical components production team has an opening for a Wire Shop Technician. The electrical production team’s mission is to produce high quality electrical system components while supporting multiple customers.
