Ensures that materials and in-process products are transferred from the shuttle to the appropriate interim storage location or packaging line.
Responsibilities
- Inspects materials/product identification for obvious deficiencies when unloading WIP to cooler.
- Unloads and weighs each combos, racks, and barrels into WIP.
- Organizes product by cut size, species, and lot # to ensure First In/First Out with inventory.
- Scans product out to and back from assigned lines in Packaging.
- Returns combos and barrels from packaging that were not emptied back into WIP room and scanned back in.
- Monitors WIP room/area to ensure cleanliness and a high level of organization is achieved.
- Loads trailer with clean combos, barrels, racks, and rework.
- Cleans department during Break, Lunch, and when needed, including sweeping, mopping, or assisting in Sanitation of equipment.
- Keeps WIP room clean and organized.
- Transfers products from Combo to Barrels using combo dumpers, dumps product into hoppers at packaging lines, as needed.
- Pulls other raw materials from storage areas, such as film and labels, and supplies them to the packaging line, if needed.
- Completes daily production paperwork according to quality requirements, if needed.
- Takes responsibility of the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
- Reports all food safety-related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- Education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
- Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
