Responsibilities

• Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles.
• Answer guest questions regarding wine origin, vintage, and style.
• Update and maintain the wine list and MICROS system.
• Pair and suggest wines to complement menu items.
• Attend wine tastings and develop relationships with vendors.
• Request new wines and products, and create/update wine lists.
• Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs.
• Monitor and replenish inventory of the wine cellar, equipment, and glassware.
• Train and educate server and bartender staff on wine knowledge.
• Conduct vintage and BIN number checks, as well as staff wine tastings.
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly.
• Maintain accurate spill sheets and adhere to company safety policies.
• Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete safety training and certifications as required.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance meet professional standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships to support team goals.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Read and verify information in various formats (e.g., small print).
• Perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
• Move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, as well as uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of related work experience in wine service or hospitality.
• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree (preferred).
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks as described.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Knowledge of wine varieties, pairings, and service techniques.

Pay

$29.00 per hour.
