Overview
The Dedicated Spirits Specialist performs all essential functions in an effort to enhance market execution at targeted on/off premise accounts. This includes partnering with the sales team to ensure account execution aligns with distributor and supplier standards, leading department-specific trainings, building and maintaining positive business relationships, and ensuring the execution of all spirits standards of performance.
Essential Functions
- Partner with sales team to ensure account execution in key on/off premise accounts aligns with distributor and supplier standards.
- Lead department specific trainings regarding the ongoing education of spirits.
- Develop strong relationships with all key retail account managers.
- Consistently work to build and maintain positive business relationships with accounts via sales calls, planning sessions, business reviews, and frequent contact with senior managers or owners.
- Align closely with Sales Representatives, Brand Managers, Sales Management, and supplier partners to drive top priorities and develop spirits brands.
- Work with assigned sales representatives to ensure proper training and execution of all standards of performance.
- Develop promotional activities / events with all key On/Off Premise accounts to maximize volume potential.
- Ensure execution of all spirits standards of performance.
- Responsible for individualized monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to align with overall vendor and distributor priorities.
- Attend all assigned meetings to share best practices and competitive intel to drive market execution.
- Strive to constantly improve personal and professional development through attending company required trainings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Key Skills And Competencies
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion and presentation.
- Facilitation of strong working relationships.
- Very high competency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Strong skills in directing and coaching others.
- Must be able to direct and control the quantity/quality of work performed by subordinates.
- Requires the ability to manage deadlines and deliver achievement of assigned goals and objectives.
- May involve evening and frequent weekend scheduling during special promotions and/or working with suppliers.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience required.
- Extensive Spirits knowledge in excess of 5 years experience.
- WSET certificate preferred.
