About the Role

Whether you have experience as a bartender, are a retail customer service enthusiast, or enjoy helping others discover new favorites, this role puts you at the heart of the guest experience. As a Wine & Spirits Clerk/Cashier, you’ll help guests find the perfect pairing for any occasion—from local craft beers to premium wines and specialty spirits. You’ll work closely with your team leaders to keep the department running smoothly while providing friendly, knowledgeable service.

Responsibilities

• Help guests find what they’re looking for, offer recommendations, and take special orders.
• Answer questions, resolve concerns, and ensure every guest leaves feeling supported.
• Work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards.
• Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized.
• Operate the register with accuracy and a smile.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
• Communicate and collaborate with vendors, managers, and fellow associates to exceed expectations.
• Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
• Proper training and knowledge of equipment/procedures including hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
• Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination to operate equipment.
• Full range of upper body motion to occasionally lift stock.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
• Functional sensory abilities to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and operate equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Working conditions include occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.

Schedule

The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays within the individual’s availability.
