About the role
Become an integral part of a diverse team that delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. This role supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the backbone platform for all Enterprise users. The Data Center & Compute Services team works with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT services.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2/3 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, shared storage, and databases.
- Install Windows software and hardware applications; upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Create accounts, reset passwords, and provide desktop support to customers via phone, tickets, or in-person.
- Support IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for the Client/Server environment.
- Provide patch management and deployment support.
- Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation process.
- Work a flexible schedule between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and may be assigned to an evening patching schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university; an additional 5 years of relevant Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for the degree.
- 15+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting in a Windows Server environment.
- IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required upon starting employment). Acceptable certifications include CCNA-Security, Security+, CASP, etc.
- Current active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Design, deploy, and administer virtualized platforms using VMWare.
- Manage Virtual Machines on vCenter servers, including adding memory, CPUs, network, and disks.
- Familiarity with JIRA ticketing system.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move, carry, and deliver workstations from inside the office to a customer’s desk.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual communication, which may include delivering presentations.
