About the role

Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is looking for an experienced Windows Client Systems Engineer with a deep knowledge of Windows desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to our internal customers in support of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. We are looking for a motivated engineer to deliver results for our customers. This is a hands-on position where your daily role will maintain and enhance existing services, including Windows build / deployment capabilities, fulfilling requests for application packaging / deployment and break / fix scenarios for all technologies the team manages. This role will work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure security compliance with all desktop environments. You will have a strong and diverse technical background that allows you to approach problems with confidence and ingenuity. You must be a “lifelong learner”, embracing the rapid innovations in technology and understanding how to leverage them to continue to improve our products. A successful Windows Client Engineer will drive the design and implementation of new services, find ways to improve and automate our existing services, and provide escalation and mentoring for junior team members. Key job responsibilities

  • Experience with Win OS, DNS, DHCP, and disaster recovery/business continuity
  • GPO policy validation and impact assessment
  • Security compliance — OS/application hardening, Nessus/Tenable vulnerability remediation
  • Understand 802.1x network authentication
  • Demonstrate ability to script in Windows environment using PowerShell, AI and Automation
  • Experience administering, maintaining, and operating Active Directory Windows based networks

Basic qualifications

  • Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
  • 4+ years supporting Windows OS to include 4 of the following: Active Directory, DHCP, PowerShell, ECM, GPO, DNS, 802.1x, disaster recovery/business continuity, AI, Automation
  • ECM experience for OS imaging, patching, and software deployment
  • PowerShell or equivalent scripting experience
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred qualifications

  • 8+ years supporting Windows OS to include 4 of the following: Active Directory, DHCP, PowerShell, ECM, GPO, DNS, 802.1x, disaster recovery/business continuity
  • ECM experience for Windows OS imaging, patching, and software deployment
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for creating and collaborating on technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures and Runbooks
  • Bachelors Degree or Current Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java automation

Pay

  • USA, MD, Jessup - 116,900.00 - 167,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington - 116,900.00 - 167,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Herndon - 116,900.00 - 167,400.00 USD annually
