Windows and Linux System Administrator
Location: San Diego, CA • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required • Position Status: 6-month contract-to-hire
About the role
Seneca Resources is hiring a Windows and Linux Systems Administrator to support a critical Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network and secure enclaves for a federal defense client in San Diego. This is a fully onsite role where you will play a key part in maintaining secure infrastructure, hardening systems to federal standards, and contributing to the design and engineering of new capabilities in a classified environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain secure Windows and Linux infrastructure
- Harden systems to federal standards (STIGs, CTOs, IAVM process)
- Develop and execute PowerShell and Bash scripts
- Ensure patch compliance and STIG compliance
- Maintain asset-tracking databases
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support equipment procurement and coordinate shipping to remote teams
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance
- IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, or SSCP)
- 3+ years of experience administering Windows 11 systems
- 3+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems
- Familiarity with DISA hardening standards including STIGs and CTOs
Desired Skills
- Automation experience using Ansible playbooks
- Experience with endpoint security tools and solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team-based environment
