About the role

The Window Service Technician at Parr Lumber is responsible for ensuring that windows and doors meet customer needs, addressing issues during shipping and installation, and providing "Lock & Slide" screen installs.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes safe work practices in all aspects of the work performed to include vehicle operation, use of hand and power tools, and handling material on the job.
  • Reviews work orders for current work schedule.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with customers and business associates.
  • Quickly responds to customer complaints and concerns.
  • Loads trucks with glass and materials needed.
  • Keeps work area clean and well organized.
  • Ensures appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy.
  • Bills and invoices for parts and service as appropriate.
  • Reports to each appointment on-time and performs duties in an efficient, safe, and timely manner.
  • Discusses repairs with the customer to ensure satisfaction with a product.
  • Aware of safety risks and does due diligence to limit them.
  • Manages schedule for team as needed, coordinating with Sales and customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience with wood and vinyl window assembly, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to gather facts and problem solve.
  • Knowledge of window and door products.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and desires a high level of responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs and demands of the team.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and applications.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Class C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record required.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold.
  • Identify processes, tools, and/or procedures that may be improved upon in an effort to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers.
  • Strong focus, planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstances.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds and carry objects 50 feet.
  • Must be able to carry and climb a 12’ ladder.
  • Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary.
