Windchill Data Migration Lead

About the role

Contract position for a Windchill Data Migration Lead based in Raritan, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end extraction, transformation, and loading of PLM data in or out of PTC Windchill
• Define the complete migration roadmap including scope, risk management, scheduling, and strategy selection
• Analyze source and target data models to create precise source-to-target mapping rules for parts, BOMs, CAD documents, change notices, and related objects
• Utilize Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM), custom Java APIs, and SQL scripts for data extraction and loading
• Identify data quality issues, handle duplicate records, resolve relationship breaks, and perform pre-load/post-load reconciliation
• Act as the bridge between business users, functional analysts, IT infrastructure team, and the data migration team
• Apply working knowledge of Windchill PLM domain; medical device industry experience preferred
• Leverage solid understanding of Windchill data model, workflows, and configurations
• Execute migrations from non-PLM systems into Windchill environments
• Apply data migration concepts, methodologies, and best practices
• Use Windchill data migration tools and utilities including site consolidation tools and processes
• Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation
• Develop scripting solutions for automating migration processes
• Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders across business and technical teams

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in data migration projects within a Windchill environment
• Solid understanding of Windchill data model, workflows, and configurations
• Experience with Windchill data migration tools and utilities (WBM, site consolidation tools)
• Proficiency in data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques
• Proficiency in scripting languages for migration automation (Java, SQL)
• Strong grasp of data migration concepts, methodologies, and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant experience
• Medical device industry experience preferred
• Relevant certifications in data management or PLM advantageous
