Windchill Backend Developer

About the Role

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Windchill Backend Developer to join our team. This is a 100% remote, full-time position with a salary range of $120,000–$135,000 annually. We are looking for a developer with deep expertise in Windchill customizations using Java, PTC APIs, and PTC’s customization frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java, a disciplined engineering style, and experience working closely with the Windchill platform internals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement deep, low-level Windchill customizations using Java, PTC APIs, and customization frameworks.
• Extend Windchill behavior through services, listeners, and processors while maintaining a clean and upgrade-friendly customization layer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers.
• Support Windchill upgrades and ensure customizations remain compatible.
• Troubleshoot and document technical solutions and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of Java development experience, with a strong focus on Windchill customization.
• Deep, hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API and customization frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Windchill data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
• Strong Java OO design and performance-engineering skills.
• Experience with JSP, HTML, and Windchill client-side customization.
• Hands-on experience with Type and Attribute Management (TAM).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Oracle or SQL Server.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PTC Windchill development certifications.
• Experience with PTC ThingWorx development.
• Exposure to Windchill RV&S customization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill.
• Experience operating Windchill in the cloud.

Pay

Salary Range: $120,000–$135,000 Annually
