About the role
Join the world’s leading generator of renewable energy as a Wind Technician. You will be on the critical front-line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm site operations. Your focus will be on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance and diagnostics, as well as the long-term reliability and profitability of the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Execute Safety Management System procedures and instructions, conduct field work in compliance with OSHA regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture
- Work outdoors and at heights in varying weather conditions
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical components such as relays, breakers, contactors, cards, and hardware
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical components such as motors and gear drives
- Perform routine annual preventative maintenance of wind turbine components
- Operate the tablet provided to each technician
- Collaborate with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance
- Recruit and develop other technicians for ongoing team development
- Support the site manager in all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, maintenance, financial reporting, and turbine availability
- Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with customers
- Participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects
- Actively participate in career development and Partners in Performance programs driving annual merit and incentives rewards
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment
- Complete electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Maintain all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
- Apply a basic understanding of technical and process functions
- Manage your own training schedules and meet all training requirements within designated time frames
- Meet attendance requirements
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License (non-CDL)
- Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
- Post-offer Functional Capacity Evaluation

- Associate’s Degree
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $24.62 to $36.92 per hour, based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
