WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST INTERN
About This Job
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries manages and protects the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. The Office of Wildlife provides wise stewardship of Louisiana’s wildlife and associated habitats and increases wildlife conservation awareness.
Responsibilities
- Provide relevant experience to students pursuing degrees in biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management, animal science, forestry, natural resources, or conservation.
- Support the agency’s mission through wise stewardship of wildlife and associated habitats.
- Work independently within departmental policies and guidelines.
- Handle multiple tasks and learn new tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Show integrity, punctuality, and dependability in all actions.
- Maintain a positive attitude throughout the internship.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full time in an accredited educational institution at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Maintain enrollment at the university while employed at LDWF.
- Pursuing a degree in biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management, animal science, forestry, natural resources, or conservation.
