About the role

The Service Field Engineer supports Duncan-Parnell’s Wide Format Printing division by planning and coordinating printer equipment installations, investigating and resolving customer technical issues, and servicing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install and train customers on new or refurbished printers and scanners to ensure full functionality and operational understanding.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot printing equipment to determine problem sources and perform break/fix repairs.
  • Provide preventative maintenance following manufacturer-prescribed schedules.
  • Manage inventory control of parts.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Interact with customers prior to on-site visits to verify potential problems and ensure correct parts are taken.
  • Attend manufacturer’s training classes and share knowledge with the service team.
  • Configure printing equipment defaults and settings to customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Windows, including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating, and removing print drivers and applications.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of MAC OS, including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating, and removing print drivers and applications.
  • Provide start-to-finish end-user training on printer equipment operation, applications, and drivers.
  • Operate remote support tools to connect to clients and resolve issues.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to fifty pounds.
  • Operate a motor vehicle throughout the day for customer visits.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and squatting for maintenance.
  • Drive company work vehicles, including a 16’ Box truck.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 or more solid employment references from relevant sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • PC operation proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
