About the role

The Town of Wickenburg is seeking a full-time Parks & Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of town parks, facilities, and related infrastructure. This position works under the general supervision of the Parks & Facilities Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on park facilities, including playground equipment, picnic ramadas, restrooms, ball fields, and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain landscaping by mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, weeding, and planting trees, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and vehicles, including mowers, trimmers, tractors, and trucks.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment and facilities for special events.
  • Inspect parks and facilities for safety hazards and report issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform minor repairs on irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, valves, and controllers.
  • Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parks and facilities, including litter pickup and restroom cleaning.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in general maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping, irrigation systems, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work for special events or emergencies.
