Job Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee local agency activities of the WIC Buddy Program
- Promote and market the program to increase awareness and participation
- Recruit and match WIC participants to foster supportive peer connections
- Maintain program records and consent forms to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support program evaluation by monitoring performance measures and assisting with improvement efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year competency as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
- Completion of the WIC Breastfeeding Curriculum Level I and II
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of at least two years at an accredited college or university, including a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours in a social service-related field
- Proven expertise in developing and executing social marketing campaigns, managing professional social media platforms, and analyzing social media metrics
- Experience with data collection, data management, and maintaining accurate program records
- Familiarity with the Peer Counselor Database System (PCDB)
- Strong judgment, creative problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to make sound decisions
- Skilled in planning, organizing, and facilitating meetings and group discussions
- Analytical ability to generate quarterly reports for Buddy Program meetings with State WIC Office
- Demonstrate persistence and creativity in engaging WIC participants, with the ability to develop innovative strategies that encourage and sustain involvement in the WIC Buddy Program
