White Flyer Controls and Electrical Systems Specialist

About the role

The Controls and Electrical Systems Specialist designs, develops, and maintains automated systems for machinery and industrial processes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for industrial automation equipment (480V and below).
• Evaluate and propose alternative components and automation strategies to enhance efficiency, product quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform programming (new and modifications) of control devices, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, and Vision Cameras.
• Develop electrical specifications for new equipment and ensure compliance by working closely with vendors throughout the quotation, design, and build phases.
• Support maintenance team members with electrical troubleshooting and train personnel on new controls.
• Develop, manage, and support capital projects, including conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide engineering support to five White Flyer sites (Webb City, MO; Knox, IN; Dalton, GA; Coal Township, PA; and San Bernardino, CA).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Electronics Engineer Technology degree preferred). Degree must be from a school accredited by an agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
• Minimum five years of experience designing electrical control systems and programming PLCs in industrial automation.
• Experience in programming and implementation of motor drives, HMIs, Servos, Machine Vision, and industrial networking preferred.
• Programming experience with Omron and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Working knowledge of machine safety and guarding, such as NEC and NFPA 70E/79, preferred.
• Must possess excellent analytical, creative, communication (verbal and written), organizational, presentation, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be available and willing to travel approximately 30%.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data; employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access such data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

$106,800 to $118,600 (depending on relevant experience)
