About the role
This position performs mission-critical duties to enable and support Box Office (BO) operations for the Wheeler Opera House (WOH), also known as Aspen Show Tix (AST) at the Wheeler, consistent with the organization’s values and mission statement.
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily box office ticket sales, processes special sales requests (complimentary, discount, group), and door/phone sales at events both onsite at the Wheeler and at offsite locations.
- Acts as lead ticket seller during normal box office hours and events. Leads Box Office operations during events, serving as primary escalation point for patron and client issues.
- Maintains current knowledge of event details and communicates relevant information to ticket sellers.
- Coordinates with Front of House, Production, Marketing, and Rental Clients to ensure seamless event execution. Assists in resolving client and patron complaints and emergent challenges.
- Maintains accuracy in a fast-paced customer service environment. Operates a vehicle and travels to off-site locations to perform box office operations.
- Maintains a comprehensive and advanced understanding of the cloud-based ticketing system (Spektrix) and supports the training of new staff.
- Builds, configures, and maintains events within the ticketing platform, including pricing structures, seating plans, promo codes, pre-sales, and system integrations.
- Performs event set-up configuration, troubleshooting, report scheduling, and system updates. Maintains database integrity and oversees customer record management.
- Troubleshoots system issues and coordinates with vendor support as needed.
- Maintains and monitors additional systems including DotDigital, CrowdEngage, and Spinetix to support communications and digital signage.
- Designs and executes automated pre- and post-event communications, reminder flows, and urgent event messaging. Assists in weekly e-newsletter creation and scheduling through Dot Digital and Spektrix.
- Collaborates on digital signage and printed marketing materials within the Box Office lobby.
- Participates in process improvements for programs such as Wheeler Insiders, ticketing workflow, and pre/post-show communications.
Requirements
- Education: High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Must have experience working in arts venue box office ticketing software, and at least two years’ experience in customer service.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Email), and graphics software. Experience with sales management software.
- Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of the start date.

Pay
Hiring Range: $28.57/hour - $32.15/hour (DOE)
Salary Range: $28.57/hour - $42.87/hour
Schedule
Regular full-time, hours and days will vary with workload. Holidays will be required dependent on workload and staffing needs. Overtime will occasionally be required dependent on workload and staffing needs.
