Wheel Refurbishing Technician - Wilkes Barre, PA

About the Role

As the Wheel Refurbishing Technician, you will perform refurbishing of commercial truck wheels in a Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers facility through a series of manual and automated processes. This position does not require experience—training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform the wheel refurbishing process, including:
  • Steam cleaning wheels to remove foreign materials
  • Shot blasting to remove rust and paint
  • Inspecting wheels for unsafe conditions
• Approve or disapprove product completion
• Paint wheels with special paint and color per customer requirements
• Maintain proper inventory control to ensure customers receive the correct product
• Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and 90-day maintenance schedules and logbooks
• Provide "Service Excellence – Always" to meet location service goals
• Comply with all safety and liability guidelines, including using protective safety equipment
• Perform manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting (commercial tires and wheels), standing, bending, and squatting

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• No relocation offered for this position
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience, including shot blasting and painting
• High School Diploma or GED
