Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related scientific field preferred.
- 0-1 years’ experience preferred in an environmental related field.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of aquatic biology, ecology, and water chemistry principles.
- Familiarity with aquatic equipment, including filtration systems, pumps, UV sterilizers, and water quality testing instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and water quality issues effectively.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and interact professionally with visitors, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Commitment to animal welfare and conservation principles, with a passion for educating others about the importance of protecting aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity.
- Certification in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, and weekends, as needed to meet operational needs and respond to emergencies.
