About Us

DDSE is an experienced and highly qualified natural gas/civil engineering, permitting, and survey firm that has been performing consulting engineering and construction services in the natural gas industry for many years. We currently perform engineering services related to natural gas transmission, distribution main design, station design (M&R, gate stations, and regulator stations), and customer services (residential and commercial) for a variety of natural gas customers throughout the Northeast. Our dynamic team includes experienced natural gas engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, surveyors, gas construction personnel, as well as in-house staff expertise in legal, compliance, and safety.

About the Role

Our Designers are responsible for working with senior-level staff to prepare engineering and construction plan documents for a variety of projects. The Designer will prepare everything from engineering details to complex designs and concept plans in support of engineering projects. Associated design and drafting will be performed primarily using AutoCAD software products, in 2D or 3D depending on experience and project requirements. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position requiring both independent work and collaboration as part of a larger team to move projects from inception through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering and construction plan documents under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Develop engineering details, complex designs, and concept plans for projects.
  • Perform design and drafting using AutoCAD software (2D or 3D as required).
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and ensure project completion.
  • Interact with clients, customers, officials, and contractors.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of related experience in an engineering drafting/design role.
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with project team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in an Engineering/Drafting-related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Map, Civil 3D, and/or Plant 3D.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and/or site grading.
  • Prior experience in the Natural Gas industry.

$26–30/hour
