Werkstudent (m/w/d) – Feldbusintegration für Lasersysteme

About the role

Your tasks include working on the development of a Fieldbus connection (EtherCAT and PROFINET) for our Cutting Heads. This involves realizing a Fieldbus Slave based on a System-on-Module (SoM), integrating and commissioning the Fieldbus Slave onto a master, e.g., via CODESYS. It also includes hardware integration of a sensor and connecting a microcontroller to the SoM, as well as programming the application processor for data processing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a study program related to Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
• Good knowledge in embedded software development using C/C++.
• First experiences with microcontrollers, ideally STM32 or similar.
• Basic knowledge of digital interfaces such as I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, or Ethernet.
• Safe handling of schematics and diagrams.
• Preferred but not required: First knowledge in EtherCAT or PROFINET.
