Wellness Coach III

About the role

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Wellness Coach Level III to join our team. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to positively impacting lives and communities through education, wellness, youth development, and community building.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellness center floor and assist members as needed, enforcing policies.
• Clean, maintain, and check equipment, reporting any repair needs.
• Apply YMCA risk and safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
• Promote, monitor, and evaluate wellness programs.
• Stay updated on wellness programs and complete required training within 60 days of hire.
• Maintain certifications and continue education credits.
• Manage a personal training load equivalent to 10% of hours worked.
• Adhere to strength training and nutrition guidelines.
• Facilitate member interaction and socialization.
• Handle multiple tasks, work independently, and solve problems.
• Exemplify YMCA ideals and leadership qualities.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Current National Personal Training certification from one of the specified certifying bodies.
• Full access to Y-Exchange, YLINK, and Metro Atlanta YMCA Workday account.
• Basic Life Support certification and renewal every 2 years.
• Visual and cognitive abilities to use computer-based and written materials.
• High degree of human relations skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time-management and customer service skills.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, or a health-related field.
• Ergonomic considerations: sitting, bending, stooping, standing, 15% repetitive keyboard work, equipment use, lifting up to 45 pounds, and exposure to noise levels up to 90 decibels.
