Wellness Buyer

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, community-oriented, and experienced Wellness Buyer for our Germantown location. This is a full-time position with an anticipated 35+ hours per week. Open availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly manner
• Become familiar with co-op policies and products to answer customer questions; refer unresolved questions to the appropriate colleague
• Discuss membership with prospective members
• Assist customers with special orders
• Supervise cooperators as needed
• Develop relationships with new and existing vendors and vendor representatives
• Place product orders
• Research new products and product lines
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors
• Arrange samples and demos with vendors
• Stock and face product to maintain orderly, attractive displays
• Create displays for merchandise
• Ensure that all products billed have been received properly
• Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor

Requirements

• A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op
• Prior retail experience as a buyer or as a wellness buyer is strongly preferred
• Great customer service skills, including conflict resolution
• Continually evolving knowledge of industry trends and forecasting
• Strong communication skills with supervisors, staff, and members
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and remain calm under stress
• Detail-oriented, including maintaining records and following procedures
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op

Pay

$17.00 per hour
