About the role

The YMCA of Greenville is a dynamic and rapidly growing association dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Wellness Associate I position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all members, program participants, and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting all members and guests
  • Booking appointments
  • Assisting with questions regarding services and programs
  • Organizing, maintaining, and ensuring cleanliness of the wellness floor

Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age and/or Junior in High School
  • One year or more customer service/public relations experience preferred
  • A passion and basic understanding of healthy living and helping others reach goals
  • Active participation in a healthy lifestyle
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
  • Enjoying working with people and having a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent communication, listening, and computer skills
  • CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention training within first 30 days of employment

Qualifications

Must adhere to YMCA and Wellness Department rules and policies. Must maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work area. Must actively promote the Y, memberships, programs, services, and promotions as needed. Must provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members/guests. Must provide detailed descriptions of Y memberships, programs, services, facility features, and hours of operation. Must properly open, perform daily tasks, and close the wellness area each day according to Standard Operating Procedures. Must set a good example in promptness, respect, manners, honesty, and caring for all members, program participants, and guests. Must attend/complete required abuse risk management training and follow procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers. Must adhere to mandated reporting requirements.
