About the role
The Wellness Associate (Caregiver) at Sonata East at Viera Melbourne, FL works under the guidance of the Wellness Director and Manager. This position involves providing essential care and support to residents based on their individual service plans.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility if needed.
- Maintains awareness of each resident’s health status and reports any changes immediately to the Wellness Director.
- Manages inventory of medical supplies and assists with ordering when necessary.
- Assists with shift coverage when unexpected call-outs occur.
- Develops and maintains wellness assignments for the Wellness Director.
- Supports the orientation and onboarding process for new Wellness Associates.
- Responds to resident emergencies, administers first aid, and coordinates appropriate medical follow-ups.
- Ensures residents' units are kept clean, neat, and orderly.
- Attends to resident needs promptly and assists with clothing and laundry as needed.
- Assists with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participates in activity programs as directed.
- Maintains accurate records and files as required.
- Completes a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current State Nurse’s Aide registration preferred but not required.
- Experience and passion in working with seniors.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks like pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free of communicable diseases.
Qualifications
- Physically capable of bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
- May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to report any changes in a resident’s health status to the Wellness Director immediately.

Pay
Hourly pay maximum: $16.50
