About the Role
The Wellness & Benefits Specialist develops, implements, and manages employee wellness programs and initiatives, incorporating best practices with proven outcomes. This role oversees site wellness coordinators, promotes the employee near-site clinic, and participates in the District Wellness Leader Planning Committee. It also supports benefits-related projects, communications, and initiatives to enhance employee understanding of benefits, resolves benefit-related issues, and ensures accurate benefit records.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with providers and partners (e.g., medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, retirement, EAP, financial) to build partnerships and gather information supporting the employee wellness program.
- Collaborates with other departments and staff (e.g., HR, Health Services, Mental Health Specialists) to implement and maintain services and programs.
- Designs and implements district evidence-based employee wellness programs and events, including promotion, tracking participation, education, and data interpretation.
- Designs services and marketing materials to implement and grow the employee wellness program.
- Maintains manual and electronic files and records to ensure up-to-date reference and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintains benefit information (e.g., provider contracts, employee records, employee census) to support accurate benefit administration.
- Ensures confidentiality to protect employee safety and privacy.
- Monitors the employee wellness program, including program budgets, evaluation, measurement, and reporting, to achieve performance outcomes within budget and district objectives.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars to convey or gather information required for job functions.
- Prepares written materials (e.g., reports, memos, letters, marketing materials, contracts) to document activities or convey information.
- Processes documents and materials (e.g., assessments, evaluations, informational materials, contracts) to disseminate information to appropriate parties.
- Supports benefits-related processes (e.g., open enrollment, billing system updates, enrollment changes) to ensure accurate and timely administration of employee benefit programs.
- Provides clinical support and knowledge to ensure appropriate information and resources are available.
- Researches funding sources, community resources, and best practices to secure alternate funding or deliver compliant services.
- Responds to inquiries to resolve problems, provide information, or refer to appropriate personnel.
- Oversees building employee wellness leaders by training and mentoring to distribute program information and encourage participation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.
Requirements
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in a job-related area.

Pay
$24.45 per hour and up (depending on experience).
Schedule
Year-round (12 months, 8 hours per day), non-exempt position.
