About the role
Assists residents in all aspects of their daily life as indicated in the resident’s care plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activities. Also provides administrative duties such as staffing scheduling, phone call assistance, scheduling appointments, and other duties as assigned.
This is a non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the Health and Wellness Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident care including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, as outlined in their care plan.
- Respect the needs of team members and residents by adhering to schedule and documenting attendance properly.
- Maintain the safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality of all residents.
- Encourage and escort (when needed) residents to meals and activities.
- Ensure all assigned residents are clean, neatly dressed, groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shifts.
- Document all services provided in ALIS EHR for your assigned residents during your shift.
- Monitor and report any change of condition in a resident immediately to your supervisor.
- Appropriately utilize and keep electronic documentation “devices” safe and secure within the community; efficiently document care/services provided during the shift.
- Participate in and attend all in-service trainings as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
- Provide basic housekeeping and/or laundry services when needed.
- Obtain weights and vitals of residents and document same per RN request.
- Perform and oversee staffing scheduling.
- Assist with phone calls to families, physicians, and others as needed.
- Schedule appointments for residents as directed from the nursing staff.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor, RN, and/or Executive Director.
Physical Abilities
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
- Must lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs.
- Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents.
- Must use proper body mechanics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of resident care experience required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification.
- Certified Medication Aide certification (preferred).
- Knowledge and experience in working with the elderly population; dementia experience preferred.
Pay
$26.00 - $28.00 hourly.
