About the role

The Wellbeing Assistant Director manages and supports educational engagement and wellbeing initiatives for faculty, staff, and students. They work closely with leadership to develop and implement engagement strategies, support retention efforts, and assist in strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage informal resolution processes, including mediation, conflict resolution, and restorative practices.

  • Facilitate productive dialogue grounded in the Wellbeing Framework's commitments to psychological safety, care, mutual respect, and belonging.

  • Develop, implement, and improve informal resolution policies, procedures, and resources.

  • Build awareness and access to informal resolution services across campus.

  • Design and advance initiatives that operationalize the Wellbeing at Pitt Framework.

  • Collaborate with various campus partners to ensure coordination and responsiveness to community needs.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of informal resolution services and framework initiatives.

  • Foster relationships with campus partners to promote a culture of wellbeing and belonging.

Requirements

Essential qualifications include a bachelor's degree and experience in conflict resolution, restorative practices, and educational engagement. Relevant experience in higher education is preferred.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience in restorative justice, alternative dispute resolution, and familiarity with the Wellbeing at Pitt Framework.

Skills

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary. Proficiency in data analysis and evaluation is also important.
