About the role

The Welding Lead is responsible for supervising and participating in operational activities related to fabrication and welding. This position requires a minimum of 2 to 5 years of welding and/or fabrication work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in operational activities related to fabrication and welding.
  • Train weld production employees on welding operations and processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate flow of parts processing through weld and into QA.
  • Participate in schedule/status meetings and update based on priorities and deadlines.
  • Manage material needs.
  • Hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to welding equipment and products.
  • Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Be flexible with working hours to allow for occasional overtime.
  • Show strong problem-solving skills both individually and with others.
  • Show strong ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
  • Show self-motivation with ability to work without much supervision.
  • Show a safety-focused mindset while performing job duties and functions.
  • Show strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).
  • Show positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • High school/Equivalent education.
  • At least 5 years of welding and/or fabrication work experience in a production/manufacturing environment or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Ability to hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment, including tape measure, square, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to be flexible with working hours to allow for occasional overtime.
  • Strong problem-solving skills both individually and with others.
  • Strong ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
  • Self-motivation with ability to work without much supervision.
  • Ability to have a safety-focused mindset while performing job duties and functions.
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED.
