About the role
The Welding Lead is responsible for supervising and participating in operational activities related to fabrication and welding. This position requires a minimum of 2 to 5 years of welding and/or fabrication work experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in operational activities related to fabrication and welding.
- Train weld production employees on welding operations and processes and procedures.
- Coordinate flow of parts processing through weld and into QA.
- Participate in schedule/status meetings and update based on priorities and deadlines.
- Manage material needs.
- Hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues related to welding equipment and products.
- Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Be flexible with working hours to allow for occasional overtime.
- Show strong problem-solving skills both individually and with others.
- Show strong ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
- Show self-motivation with ability to work without much supervision.
- Show a safety-focused mindset while performing job duties and functions.
- Show strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).
- Show positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Requirements
- High school/Equivalent education.
- At least 5 years of welding and/or fabrication work experience in a production/manufacturing environment or relevant equivalent experience.
- Ability to hold high quality standards to meet customer specifications.
- Ability to use measuring equipment, including tape measure, square, etc.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong ability to be flexible with working hours to allow for occasional overtime.
- Strong problem-solving skills both individually and with others.
- Strong ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Understand mathematics to verify job requirements and specifications.
- Self-motivation with ability to work without much supervision.
- Ability to have a safety-focused mindset while performing job duties and functions.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel).
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
