Welding Lathe Operator

About the role

Set up and operate welding lathes to perform Arc, MIG, and TIG welding on steel or stainless steel components such as rolls and journals. Work with minimal direction, following instructions from supervisors.

• Monitor and adjust the temperature of rolls as required
• Perform arc welding or burning as needed
• Place rolls in the furnace, operate the furnace, and log rolls on the heat chart
• Conduct minor maintenance and repairs on equipment
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, tools, and equipment
• Operate cranes and material handling equipment
• Uphold safety standards, remain drug-free, and maintain excellent attendance

Requirements

• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, physical capacity profile test, and background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to work night shift
