Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive welding courses covering structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering techniques.
- Act as a subject matter expert for instructional designers and content creators.
- Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions to students, ensuring they develop proficiency in various welding processes.
- Participate as an instructor for Boot Camps and New Hire Orientation as needed.
- Emphasize and enforce safety protocols and procedures in all welding activities, maintaining a safe learning environment for students and staff.
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and enhance welding curriculum, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, written exams, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Keep Workday LMS transcripts up-to-date by tracking student progress daily.
- Support a team of mentors who will provide on the job instruction for students going through the welding program.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition for training purposes.
- Stay updated with advancements in welding technologies, techniques, and safety standards, participating in professional development activities as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, offering assistance with career planning and in-house certification exams.
- Perform other duties related to training and training administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering in a professional setting.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in welding education preferred.
- Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to students of varying skill levels.
- Comfortable with Microsoft and Google Suite applications, and Learning Management Software.
- Proven ability to teach and mentor individuals in a classroom and hands-on setting, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Preferably 3 or more years of instruction experience.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures, with a focus on instilling safe work habits in students and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and industry partners in a dynamic educational environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and student needs, with a willingness to continuously improve teaching methods and curriculum.
