About the role
SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract with potential of further extension.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts
- Use simple equipment such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges (provided by client)
- Verify parts to drawings, perform measurements, and document results
- Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found
- Record inspection results and any non-conformities
- Investigate non-conformities, including identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions
- Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel
- Perform paperwork and organizing tasks as needed
Qualifications
- At least one of the following certifications: AWS CWI or API 510
- Five to ten (5–10) years of industrial welding-related inspection experience
- Five (5) of those years must be in Quality Assurance, vendor surveillance, or shop inspections
- Industrial experience in Oil & Gas, Power & Utility, Construction, Manufacturing, or similar fields
- Experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products, including pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other equipment
- Experienced in witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc.) and verifying test reports
Pay
- $45/hr. to $50/hr.
Schedule
- 5 days per week, up to 10 hours per day (Monday to Friday)
