Welding Inspector - Cleveland - 1 month contract

About the role

SGS is looking for a Welding Inspector for a one month contract in Cleveland, OH with potential of further extension. Responsible to perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts
• Use simple equipment like tape measures, calipers, gauges (provided by client)
• Verify parts to drawings, perform measurements, and document results
• Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found
• Record inspection results and any non-conformities
• Investigate non-conformities, identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions
• Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel
• Perform paperwork and organizing tasks

Qualifications

• At least one of the following: AWS CWI or API 510
• Five to ten (5–10) years industrial welding-related inspection experience
• Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / vendor surveillance / shop inspections
• Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc.
• Experienced in inspecting welds on various manufactured products (e.g., pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment)
• Experienced in witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc.) and verifying test reports

Pay & Schedule

• Type of contract: sub-contractor agreement
• Work schedule: 5 days / week, up to 10 hrs / day (Monday to Friday)
• Pay rate: $45/hr. to $50/hr.
• Per diems: to be discussed
