About the Role
A MIG Welder and Fabricator will weld thick steel plates using pulse welding and fabricate steel parts to meet design specifications according to blueprints. The position involves operating an overhead crane, sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and a shot blast machine for paint preparation.
Responsibilities
- Pass AWS D1.1: 2020 Welder Test.
- Understand and use metric measurements.
- Set up and operate weld machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Perform all essential functions of a Heavy Plate Structural Welder, including welding press brake side plates, lower beams, and upper frames for the painting process.
- Train other employees as a "Welding Apprentice."
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace.
- Communicate status and issues to management.
- Manage standard times and available resources.
- Comply with workplace policies and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Avoid self-inflicted mistakes to prevent rework.
- Speak only English during emergencies or when performing job duties with potential emergency risks.
- Work in-person up to 5 days a week at the assigned facility.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in manufacturing and production preferred.
- Experience driving a forklift and using measuring tools is preferred.
- ISO and SAP experience is a plus.
- Previous Lead Person experience is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills, including reading a tape measure down to the 1/32.
- Reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Ability to design custom reports as requested.
Working Conditions
Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; constant standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching outward and above the head, climbing, gripping, pinching, and hand-to-eye coordination. Work is performed on cement flooring.
Temperature: Climate-controlled environment (heat and air conditioning).
Pay
$22.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Schedule
Two schedule options available:
- Monday through Thursday, 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:45 AM.
