Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for temporary, part-time Adjunct Faculty positions. Instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, or McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.
Responsibilities
- Teach a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations
- Utilize instructional technology and apply a variety of effective teaching methods
- Plan, manage, and deliver course instruction
- Follow all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program
- Participate in college functions as needed
- Apply teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college
- Serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the college while performing duties with the highest level of quality and service
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in the welding field
- Associate degree or five years of experience along with relevant industry certifications
- Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes on plate, pipe, and structural steel
- In-depth knowledge of the welding trade
- Ability to effectively share knowledge with others through instruction and training
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience, particularly at the community or technical college level or in secondary education settings
