Welding Adjunct Assistant Professor

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position.

About the role

The adjunct faculty member will teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content, assess student learning outcomes, maintain up-to-date knowledge in their teaching field, and continue professional development. Responsibilities also include utilizing current technology, maintaining professional conduct, assisting with articulation and curriculum development, serving on college committees, participating in faculty governance, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses, which may include but are not limited to:
  • WELD 105 Introduction to Metal Sculpture
  • WELD 107 Welding Equipment Maintenance
  • WELD 115 Code Welding
  • WELD 117 Ultrasonic Testing Level One
  • WELD 118 Ultrasonic Testing Level Two
  • WELD 140 Mathematics for Welding Technicians
  • WELD 150 Employability Skills for Technical Careers
  • WELD 155 Industry Training
• Assess student learning outcomes
• Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field
• Continue professional development
• Utilize current technology in job duties
• Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics
• Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review
• Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR
• Any associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR
• The equivalent*

All degrees must be from an accredited institution and completed by the time of hire.

Pay

Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience (initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 1).
